By understanding the individual needs of children with speech and language disorders, we can design a therapy programme to suit the particular needs of your child.
An initial assessment is arranged to identify the child's speech and language needs, and to discuss both the parent's and child's concerns. A therapy plan is then developed to address the child's requirements. Direct therapy is given on a one-to-one basis and goals are achieved through participation in interesting games and activities
Speech therapy techniques are demonstrated for parents to use at home and activities are provided for home practice, to support development between sessions.
Some children may not require direct therapy, but could benefit from a detailed programme of therapy activities for use at home or school. Amanda can develop a programme to target individual speech and language goals for your child.
• Direct and indirect therapy available
• Flexible therapy sessions
• Home activities provided to support development
• Visits to schools for consultations
• Attendance at meetings such as annual reviews
If you would like to discuss your child's speech therapy and begin making plans for a brighter future, we are waiting to hear from you.
"You have been so wonderful not only in regard to our son's speech but your support of us as a family; the determination that you showed when helping him with his hearing and his palate was amazing. Tailoring your approach and constantly striving to help him, when others wrote him off at such a young age, kept us all going. I cannot believe how much you have done for him. When he started school 3 years ago he couldn't ennunciate and no one could understand him. Now he is a far more confident and happy child who comfortably talks to people expecting to be understood. Thank you so much for your support, your dedication in helping him has been astounding. You have driven into the mountains, across country and over the border into Wales to help him. I cannot express how much we have come to rely on you and your fantastic knowedge and generosity".
"Thank you for your efforts with our daughter, she has made great progress. She is now using the 'L' sound in her everyday language with very little prompting".
"Thank you once again for all your help I cannot express how happy I am at the level that our daughter is now from when she first started with you. If I have any worries I will soon email you but I'm keeping my fingers crossed that she just keeps going from strength to strength with her words. I am so proud of what she has achieved so far. I'm sure you will still get your wave from her when at school, I must admit she was a little disappointed that she wasn't going to have anymore sessions with you, bless her but once I explained how well she has done she clicked on why she didn't need to see you!!!!!
